Mary Slayo is a first year PhD student and recipient of the Vice Chancellor’s PhD Scholarship at RMIT University in Melbourne. She is a member of the international SOLID consortium researching the role of specialised pro-resolving mediators in Alzheimer’s disease. Mary is recurring speaker for Ecolinc STEMex and has co-authored on a paper researching the role of microglia and monocytes in the immune response of female and male rats. As part of her Honours research, she explored the use of autofluorescent granules within microglia to determine the onset or progression of neuroinflammation.
