I am a Sir Charles Hercus Fellow & my current research at the University of Otago focuses on saving the dying brain cells in Parkinsonās & Batten disease. Using skin cell-derived human brain cells & organoids, with CRISPR technology, I am investigating how non-coding RNAs and cellular organelles (mitochondria and lysosomes) maintain cellular homeostasis in brain diseases.
