Dr. Cyril Jagaraj is an accomplished Early Career Researcher at the Macquarie MND Research Centre. During his PhD, he discovered a novel disease mechanism for Motor Neuron Disease (MND), which laid the foundation for his postdoctoral research focused on developing innovative therapies for the condition. He successfully led and completed two pre-clinical trials using MND mouse models and is currently leading another pre-clinical trial funded by Fight MND. Dr. Jagaraj has published over 16 papers, including first-author articles in journals such as eLIFE and CMLS. His recent work has garnered significant attention, resulting in five oral presentations at national and international conferences last year. He secured 220,000 AUD in philanthropic funding to establish an iPSC facility at Macquarie University. Throughout his career, Dr. Jagaraj has supervised more than 10 bachelor's and master's students and is currently mentoring one PhD student and one student pursuing a combined master's and PhD program.
